Our Purpose

The International Ozark Steel Guitar Association is an organization to promote the music of Pedal Steel Guitar. It is a place for steel players:  (1) to develop relationships with other musicians, (2) to enhance their skill on the steel guitar, (3) to learn new methods and (4) to showcase their skills. Most of all for the non-steel player to experience the sounds of the steel guitar in all kinds of music.

Our Jams feature a live band many types of music. All levels of pedal steel players, lap steel players, dobro players are invited to set in and play at the jams. The public is invited to all jams at no cost.

Steel players, mostly from the Ozarks, are invited to play the March Spring Show and steel players from all over are invited to play at our 3 day Super Show in July. The public is invited to our shows for a minimal charge.

If you are interested in playing one of our shows or have any other questions, call Eddie Lane 417-334-5708 or Charlie Steichen 417-294-1268

Our History

The OzarkSGA was formed in 1993, by Dave Musgrave, Tom Brumley, Roger Blevins and Terry Bethel. All four were full time Steel Guitar Players with various backgrounds, but with one thing in common, they all love the steel guitar. All four worked, recorded, and traveled with Major artists.

Tom Brumley is a member of the International Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame. He played for Buck Owens.

Roger Blevins was a mainstay at the Baldknobbers Show in Branson, Mo for over 30 years.

Dave Musgrave has traveled extensively and was a member of The Cherokee Cowboys,  Ray Price’s fabulous band.

Terry Bethel, also a member of the International Steel Guitar Hall of Fame, was with Ferlin Husky, Loretta Lynn, Billie Jo Spears and spent over 25 years with the one and only M-M-M Mel Tillis.
